The KORG TRITON Extreme is a flagship workstation synthesizer released in 2004 as the ultimate evolution of the legendary TRITON series. It built upon the foundation of its predecessors by adding a vast expansion of sounds, a valve (tube) circuit for warmth, and a distinctive "Extreme" black and blue finish, making it one of the most powerful and sought-after workstations of its era.
It included all the sounds from the original TRITON series plus the entire libraries of the previously sold-on-expansion MOSS, EXB-PCM, and Studio Essentials boards pre-installed. This resulted in over 320 MB of ROM (huge for the time) and more than 1,600 programs, making it an unparalleled sound source.
Expanded Sampling & Sequencing: It featured a powerful 16-track sequencer for song creation and a versatile sampler (often expanded via an optional SCSI or USB kit). The large, touch-sensitive color screen made editing intuitive.
The "Extreme" Soundset: The factory presets were geared towards modern production, with aggressive leads, powerful basses, and cinematic pads that defined the sound of 2000s pop, rock, and electronic music.
